In this post “The Productivity Tips You Didn’t Know You Needed” you are going to get new insights into the importance of time management. Hope you might be aware “Time Management Is Life Management”.
Everyone loves to be their own boss and enjoy their life as per their wish. There’s much to love about being your own boss. You can pick your own schedule, decide the structure of your day, and work with the knowledge that the more you put into your work, the more you’ll get out.
However, there’s a problem. Your success will depend on your productivity, and that isn’t always something that’s easy to get under control. Left to its own devices, your productivity will take a break. Take a read of some of the tips we’ve assembled below, and you’ll be on your way to working better in no time. This is an affiliate contributed post. That means that Paul did not write the entire post.
Block Time-Wasting Websites
You may or may not have noticed a common occurrence when you sit down to work. Everything’s going fine, and then you wonder what the weather will be like tomorrow, so you check Google, and then before you know it, you’re browsing all your favorite websites. An hour goes by, and you’ve done virtually no work, darn it! You can’t bank on willpower to stop you from visiting non-work related sites. You’ll cave too quickly! Instead, add an extension to your browser that blocks time-wasting websites – it’ll take all the willpower out of it, and allow you to focus on your work.
I often personally struggled with the block time-wasting websites, the online magazines, Newspaper, Facebook, Skype etc. Working from home needs high standards and focus. There are many days without doing any of my work half day gone. Then to catch up I will be working late at night.
Time isn’t the main thing. It’s the only thing! – Miles Davis
Much of what we do in business is repetitive. We spend longer than we’d like just going through the motions, doing things that need to be done, but which don’t grow our business. Wouldn’t it be handy if there was a way to cut down on these repetitive tasks? Well, there is.
In fact, there are two ways. You can use software documents templates, so you don’t need to create new documents – or go searching for the ones you’ve created previously – when you’re trying to get down to work. You can also think about outsourcing some of your tasks to a third-party company, which will free up your time to work on more important tasks. We need to use the technology and simplify our work.
By outsourcing few of your tasks you can save your time and you can utilize that time for other important tasks which you need to do which others cannot do.
The other part of outsourcing is this: It simply says where the work can be done outside better than it can be done inside, we should do it. – Alphonso Jackson
Work Outside of the Home
You might be a home-based business, but that doesn’t mean that you need to do all of your work from home. Indeed, if you do, you’ll find that you’re straying from your work duties the second someone knocks on the door, or the washing needs hanging up, or whatever else.
As such, think about working at a cafe or co-working space, at least some of the time. It’ll give you that extra nudge of focus when you need it.
Set Time Limits
Some of my friends working from home are using a timer to finish their daily schedule. For example, checking emails 45 minutes, Checking their stats 30 minutes etc.,
When you’re trying to get work done, it’s important that you stay of Parkinson’s Law. This states that work fills to occupy the allotted time. If you say “I’m going to work for three hours” then you’ll just sit there for a few hours, and sometimes do work. It’s much better to say “I’m going to complete X, Y, and Z.” You’ll find that it helps to focus your mind and that you get everything done much quicker than if it were open-ended, too.
With the above tips on your side, you’ll be blasting through your work!
I hope this post “The Productivity Tips You Didn’t Know You Needed” gave you some useful insights. By using and focusing on the above four things you can utilize your time effectively to its best and you can stay ahead of your competition. Wishing you all the very best on your online business.
